a. Time Difference: Medellin, Colombia operates on UTC time which doesn’t practice daylight savings so the time is 1 hour behind EST time currently.
b. Money exchange: The local currency is Colombian Peso (COP) The conversion from U.S Dollars (USD) to Colombian Pesos (COP) is $1 USD = $4,000 COP - for example $100,000 COP is $25 USD. You can always google the exchange if you’re unsure.

ii. Credit cards are widely accepted in Medellin, but it’s always handy to have cash as some places only accept cash. Don’t

c. Weather: Medellin is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” for it’s mild climate. Temperatures range from 60 F to 85F year round. It can rain so bring a light jacket and umbrella.
d. Transportation: Medellin has a good public transportation system that includes Uber and Taxi’s everywhere. Guest should make sure to use licensed services.
e. Local Etiquette: Colombians especially those from Medellin are known for being friendly and polite. We are sure you will fall in love with their accent. A smile and gracias goes a long way.
f. Tipping: If you go out to eat they will ask if you want service included or not. If you say yes it’s generally 10-12%.
